OBITUARIES MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2010 BELLEVILLE NEWS-DEMOCRAT BarbaraAnn Timmermann BarbaraAnn C. "Barb" Timmermann, nee Au, 77, of Highland, born Sept. 30, 1932, in Cornwall, N.Y., died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, Ill. surrounded by her family.

Barb was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, Ill. She worked as a secretary, eventually Executive Secretary, at Highland Machine and Screw Products for 26 years. She belonged to a weekly quilting club and card club. She volunteered at Highland Health Care Center, Food Pantry, and Chamber of Commerce.

She made a mean salsa. She enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to her humming birds. She enjoyed her grandchildren very much. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lena, nee Van Zetta, Au; a sister, Patrice Oswald; a brother, John Grant; Joe and Alvira Poettker; and a brother-inlaw, Virgil Ratermann. Surviving are her husband, Arthur Timmermann of Highland, whom she married on Aug.

Mrs. Dyroff was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, where she taught kindergarten class in Sunday School for many years and subsequently served as the College Student Secretary. She also did volunteer work for many years with the Cub Scouts and the Dupo Public Library.

Her children and grandchildren will always remember the many special experiences that she arranged for each of them.
